The Story
In 2012, while on assignment for Bladet Vesteraalen—a local newspaper in northern Norway with a circulation of about 8,000—Jonas Bendiksen captured this hauntingly atmospheric view of Myre harbor in Vesteraalen. In this image, fishing vessels sit quietly beneath a blanket of low fog, their lights casting a gentle glow across the harbor. Surrounded by towering, shadowed mountains and framed by the pale light of dawn, the scene evokes the stillness and quiet industry of life in Norway’s far north.
